Happy New Year’s Eve! With 2019 coming to a close, and 2020 beginning, its a good idea to clean out your closet and home of unwanted items. I love to give my closet a fresh start whenever I can, and the end of the year is a great excuse. Recently I just filled two trash bags for Goodwill while cleaning out my closet and dresser over the weekend, and I still need to go through the rest of my apartment. I love purging my excess stuff whenever I can and feel motivated to do so. Starting the year off clean, fresh and with new favorite pieces is a wonderful feeling. Which is why I am writing this post, 5 things to buy at Target. Why Target though? I picked Target because it is local to almost every location, has budget-friendly options and is honestly carrying super cute pieces right now, and I wanted to share them!
Full-Length Teddy Coat
I bought this full-length teddy coat for $45 at Target. It was a total impulse buy, but I am so happy I did it. It’s surprisingly warm and is a nice alternative to my winter puffer coat, and good for the slightly warmer weather Ohio has been experiencing. I bought a size XS for reference. While I didn’t try it on before buying and was a little worried it would be tight in my shoulders, it fits perfectly, true to size.
Sherpa Lace-Up Boots
These boots are my obsession right now. They’re a dupe for the Marc Fisher (over $250) boots and well worth the $40. With Target, I feel that shoes can be really hit or miss. Sometimes they’re cute and the quality sucks, and sometimes it’s the other way around. These boots are cute and great quality! I did have to spend a day in paid however when I first wore them to break in around the ankles (if you wear taller socks you’ll be fine), but now they fit great and are super comfortable. Plus they have side zippers so you don’t have to constantly lace and un-lace them.
Pearl Hair Clips
I’m sure you’ve seen these hair clips on every blogger’s social media platforms for the last few months. I have tried out a few, but all of them have either broken, lost beads or look crappy. These are my favorite ones I’ve tried, so I wanted to share them no matter the overexposure they are going through. They’re a great small gift idea or will dress up any party look. Probably not something I will wear day to day, but fun to have and very inexpensive.
Essential Long Sleeve T-Shirt (2 for $18)
You can never have too many basic long sleeve t-shirts. These are something I always buy each year, usually one in black and one in white. Perfect or layering or casual days. Its always good to have a new set! You can grab two for $18, or one for $10.
High Waist Skinny Jeans
Target jeans, what do you think? I bought this black pair in Florida when I realized I needed a pair of full-length pants, and I was pleasantly surprised. They are a great high-waist, even on my long torso, and are so soft. 100% worth the $19 and I wear them now all the time. Plus, they haven’t faded much, which is something most of my nicer black jeans have done.

Limiting yourself to buying 5 things at Target isn’t an easy task (at least not for me), but these 5 things are great, budget-friendly and trend-loving pieces that are worth the price. Do you have 5 things to buy at Target that you can’t live without, or are super excited to now own? Leave me a comment explaining it below!
