Mixing neutrals together in one outfit was something that took me a while to get on board with. I was always taught that black does not go with brown, blue and black can never be together. Somehow this got in my head so bad at one point that I wouldn’t even mix pieces that had different color stitching. I know, that sounds insane. But mixing up neutrals can be tricky!
Mixing Up Neutrals?
What inspired me to write this post was the look I’m wearing. I threw it on for work one day wanting to be comfortable. With the weather in Ohio stuck in that ‘consistently changing through the day’ pattern. I really just wanted to wear this new shirt and wedges. This look isn’t anything spectacular or really even blog-worthy, but I’m really into the neutral trend.
I received these awesome wedges as a gift from Vionic Shoes. They have memory foam in the soles which makes them perfect for walking around downtown. Sometimes this mule style ends up hurting my feet by cutting into the sides of my toes, but the leather on these is so soft. I have no complaints this far! I hadn’t ever tried or honestly even heard of this brand prior to receiving these, but now I am an avid fan.
How I Mix Up My Neutrals
I’m wearing a pair of Wedgie Fit Levi’s in a faded black color. A white & black striped Elizabeth & James tee I bought from Cleveland Consignment Shoppe and my Gucci Marmont belt. I ordered a child size in Large in this belt and it costs less than half of the regular belt. It has a skinnier size and smaller buckle. Pairing the black and brown is something that I am now obsessed with! Especially in my wedges cognac brown shade. I think it looks so stunning with black and stands out very well.
What is your take on mixing up neutrals? Are you into it?
