We all have those hard core puppy dog lovers in our lives. For me, that person is myself, which I am totally fine with. While I was trying to think of fun gift guide ideas, the dog-lover trend kind of jumped at me. I am currently planning my puppy’s first birthday for this weekend, and thought this post was perfectly appropriate to write while I prepare. In this gift guide for dog lovers, you will find not only toys for the dogs, but for the people too.

Dog Eats First

Gift ideas for dog lovers

In our home, it seems like Leo (the puppy) comes first with most things. I have no issue with that and don’t care one bit that he is as spoiled as he is, he gives us so much love and happiness that he deserves every single pet, treat and kiss. I’m going to knock out the dog gifts first in this guide, because lets be honest they are the most fun. These toys are the ones we have had the best luck with. Having a husky one-year old puppy means we have gone through more than our fair share of toys, bones, treats and everything in between. His teeth are razor sharp and strong, and he can destroy anything he wanted to.

Bark Box Subscription

I have had the Bark Box Super Chewer subscription, which basically just means the toys are supposed to be extra tough, for about six months now. While the toys are a lot tougher than average toys, Leo is still able to of course destroy them. Bark Box claims they are “indestructible” but don’t be fooled. Although, I will say, the toys do last longer than most, and Bark Box has been amazing about sending free replacements anytime I write in. And they have even sent extra toys and treats to try and make up for destroyed ones.

They have great customer service and that is the main reason I recommend this service. If you or the dog lover in your life don’t have crazy strong pups, this subscription, or the regular version, is a great gift! You can find discounts and sales all the time, and can cancel at any point. Signing up a friend for a few months is an awesome idea for a gift! You receive 1-2 toys and 3-4 things of treats in every box and they are able to be customized. You can snag a free box with my link, here.

Tough Toys

Gift guide for dog lovers

The toys we have bought multiple of, due to Leo holding onto them for a while, then destroying them, then getting sad when they are gone…(ugh) I greatly recommend. These are those toys! Kong Classic filled with Peanut Butter, Tuffy Ultimate Ring Toy I love this one because the squeaker is super quiet, so I don’t get annoyed, but Leo still loves it. Snake Squeaker Toy, somehow Leo has had this since he was a little puppy and hasn’t killed it yet. It has different squeak sounds in it and it entertains him, and they will continue to work if punctured. Tough Plush Giraffe, we had had every single variation of this one. They do last longer with the double stitching and durable material, which is nice.

This is the bed we have for Leo, he’s super picky and won’t use beds if he doesn’t absolutely love one. Yeah I know, hes a dramatic dog. We have two of them now and keep one on our balcony for him with this sliding dog-door insert, which allows him to go outside whenever he wants, even in our apartment. The best $180 I have ever spent was that dog door insert. He loves to lay outside in the cold weather and its so easy to install.

For the Dog Lovers

Dog Lover Gift Guide

Okay now time for the gift guide for dog lovers, and not the actual dogs. Small but great gift ideas can include this Paw-Print Custom Ornament, which we have! As well as this adorable, customizable dog-themed picture frame which they can fill with their sweet pooch, and these fun Mini Dog Magnets. Pretty much gifting someone anything that closely relates to their dog, they will love. At least I would!

I get so excited every time I find something with a husky on it, and for some reason doing that isn’t easy! However, I did find these adorable pajamas from Target that have huskies on the shorts! This Custom Pet Portrait is the coolest thing as well, and I want five made of Leo. This super dainty, classic and pretty Rose Gold Paw Print Necklace is also such a sweet gift.
