Lilac and Lavender are huge this spring and summer, and I’m not talking about the plants. Everywhere I go I’ve been seeing a huge surplus of various shades of light purple, I’m calling it summer lilac. I even did a visual display of all pieces in the lilac shades at work today! I guess its just Lilac for Summer this year.

Color of the Year

With Purple being the Pantone color of the year for 2018 it isn’t a huge surprise that this color is taking off as a major trend. I’ve honestly never really owned too much anything purple but not for any particular reason, I think I just tend to gravitate towards more warm colors than cool, but I’m here for its shining moment in the trend hall of fame right now.

Stand Out this Summer in Lilac

I snagged this lilac velvet ruffle skirt from J.Crew last time I was in Florida and paired it with a white, high-cut knit tank from Zara, a white Goyard tote, and my favorite white booties. Will I ever stop wearing these shoes? Honestly, probably not. I’m gonna pray no holes show up in the soles from overuse…

Lilac and Lavender are such a perfect shade of purple for the spring and summer months. It’s fun, bright and flirty! It pairs well with a ton of other summer shades like turquoise, white and even yellow (it sounds weird but trust me).

These photos were taken while I was still on vacation in Florida. While its technically summer now for me, I’m still wishing I was back sunning myself under the palm trees. Or even romping around Waterside Shops. Maybe I should move to Florida? Obviously that is where I am going.
